Photography. Why?

It's interesting, that just a few choice words can cause that spark that sets that fire ablaze. I remember growing up having an interest in taking pictures. First with a cheap little 110mm film camera, then I saved up to buy a 35mm film camera (not an slr). I was never heavily into it, just a few snapshots here and there.

Where did my spark come from that sent me down the path I'm on? I'd have to say it was one day after work, my friend and I randomly decided to cruise around Mt. Rainier, and we took a few pictures. This was right around the time digital point and shoots were at 3mp. Anyways, we did that, and upon reviewing our photos, he told me I had an eye for photography. I didn't know any of the "rules" of photography, or how to photoshop, or anything for that matter. But those simple words of encouragement sent me into this downward spiral of spending money, lol. And I must say, I'm happy where it's sent me.

So, I encourage you (my avid reader, singular), to provide that spark for someone you know; give them words of encouragement in whatever it is they're persuing. Or who knows, they may not even know they're persuing it until you put that thought in their head.

That friend was me! We were equal, and then you decided to go ahead and buy an SLR and proceeded to leave me in the dust. Just wait till I get an SLR camera...
