Snowboarding again.

A handful of my friends enjoy hitting the slopes, and had been asking me if I was interested in joining them. I had been before, roughly 6-8 years ago, but was never any good. So I was reluctant to want to go again partially for that reason, but mainly because I didn't have snow gear that fit. So of all the times I've been asked to join last year and the beginning of this season, my answer was always, "I'll pass."

Five plus years of a relatively inactive life style adds up around the waist. However, I did what most people do on the New Year, and made a resolution to lose weight. I've done this before without much success; but something just clicked this time and I found the motivation to succeed. Two months later, my snow gear fit again, and I didn't have a reason anymore to decline the invitation to join my friends on the slopes. I suppose it would have been easier to just buy larger pants, and since starting I've bought all new gear except pants.

I've been following (as best I can), the slow carb diet as mentioned in "The Four Hour Body." Along with a bit of exercise and a lot of drinking. Although, the drinking probably hinders the progress rather than helps it. So far I've lost about 25 pounds, and I am aiming to lose another 30 pounds to get to the weight I want to be at.

Anyways, below are a few photos from my snowboarding adventures. I've boarded 8 days this year; 4 at Steven's Pass, 1 at Crystal Mountain, 1 at Mission Ridge, and 2 at Whistler. Not too bad, considering I didn't start going until February.
