As the weather begins to clear and get more summer like around here, I'm finding myself more and more antsy to get out and enjoy all the wonders of the northwest.
It was a pretty amazing winter as far as snow goes in the mountains this year, which was great for getting back into snowboarding after 7-8 year hiatus. However, it means a longer wait for the higher elevation hiking trails to be free of snow. A little snow isn't bad, but traversing a snow covered trail along a steep mountainside isn't my idea of a good time!
In the mean time though, I've taken to hiking Poo Poo Point on Tiger Mountain. Those of you in the Issaquah area may know it as the place the paragliders launch themselves off the mountain. I've taken a liking to this hike mainly because it's nearby, relatively short, and provides a good workout (courtesy of the 2000 feet of vertical gain). It makes for a great after-work workout when the weather is nice.
Of course, when the weather gets nicer I have a list of mountains I'd like to summit around the North Bend area... I'll worry about that when the time comes. In the meantime, a few photos from my Poo Poo Point excursions.

Hi Matt :) I enjoy reading your entries. I see most of them focus on new year's resolutions. I have 20 this year. Let's try helping each other accomplish our goals. I'm a bit vain so I only leave a comment on a post that I'm featured on hehhe.
